The Annual CIE Don Dixon Memorial Lecture - Water Pumps

Thursday 11th January

Tom Clifford, Director of Reventa Ltd, will be delivering a talk on Water Pumps: 

Tom Clifford is a Director of Riventa Ltd, a hydraulic consultancy with offices in the UK, South Korea and representatives worldwide and will be talking about using specially designed electronics and sensors for pump monitoring, with a particular focus on high accuracy differential thermometry, for application in the water industry. 

This talk will commence at 6:00pm, and will be held in the Chapel Theatre, Penryn Campus, TR10 9EZ 

Cornwall Mining Sundowner

Thursday 18th January

Every month a gathering takes place in Cornwall for anyone in the Mining, Minerals, Renewables and associated industries.  This usually takes place on the third Thursday of each month, with this month's Cornwall Sundowner taking place on Thursday 18th January, 5.45pm onwards at The County Arms Hotel, Truro. Please come along and catch up with people in the local Mining and associated industries. The more the merrier!

CIE Visit - Penzance/Long Rock Depot Extension

Saturday 27th January

The CIE are arranging a visit to the Penzance/Long Rock Depot to check out the  upgraded and expanded facility will – allow for the maintenance of the night Riviera sleeper to be undertaken in Cornwall; Support the planned introduction of a twice-hourly service on the Cornish mainline; improve the visual appearance of the depot and the surrounding area and provide  better facilities for the staff working at the location.

This visit will be co-ordinated by Nigel Blackler (Head of Transport at Cornwall Council). Time TBC.
